Almost twenty years of professional experience --usually as one very few minorities at the more senior levels along the way, has provided me with the opportunity to experience diversity management in a very unique and intimate way.

I
have had the privilege of working with hundreds of Canada's best and brightest minority students while developing the INROADS "Leadership Training" program. In my current role PricewaterhouseCoopers I have unique opportunities to help harness the full potential that our diverse Canadian workforce can offer.

Helping others reach their full potential is one of my passions --a commitment that I take very seriously. Most of all, I enjoy the energy and enthusiasm that all Canadians bring to everything they do.

Canada embraced diversity; now diversity is embracing Canada. In the not too distant future, being Canadian will mean being "diverse". Check out this important announcement from York University on August 20, 2009 that highlights the importance of harnessing the power that diversity brings to Ontario. Be sure to check out the five important studies that together form the basis of the definitive case for workplace diversity and inclusion.

The most recent report
Projections of the Diversity of the Canadian poulation, was released by Statistics Canada on March 9, 2010 further confirms what I've been advocating for so many years --harnessing the power of Canada's diversity is the key to our long-term sustainability and prosperity. That is not just in Toronto but in all 34 cities studied in this report.

For diversity to really work it must be fully inclusive. All Canadians have the unique opportunity (and responsibility) to show the rest of the world the true power of diversity and inclusion --while reaping the benefits of living in a harmonious, inclusive society.

Together we will all be successful...  Richard H. Pinnock
